Accepted File Formats in KAPTO

File formats accepted by KAPTO

KAPTO is designed to work seamlessly with a wide range of file formats. This versatility ensures you can leverage KAPTO's powerful features no matter what kind of documents you're working with. The following formats are currently supported:

Text Documents

  • .pdf: Portable Document Format™ files are widely used and well-supported. These files are ideal for sharing documents as they maintain consistent formatting across different devices.

  • .docx: This is the default file format for Microsoft Word™ documents. It's widely used for creating and sharing text documents.

  • .rtf: Rich Text Format™ is a universal file format that preserves most formatting from any word processing program.

Image Files

  • .jpeg/.jpg: JPEG™ is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital images. It is particularly useful for realistic images and photographs.

  • .png: Portable Network Graphics™ format is used for lossless compression. PNG™ is ideal for images with transparent backgrounds and for detailed, high-contrast images.

Email Files

  • .eml: This is a file extension for an email message saved to a file in the MIME RFC 822 standard format by Microsoft Outlook Express™ as well as some other email programs.

Encrypted and Compressed Files

  • .zip: This is an archive file format that supports lossless data compression. A .zip™ file may contain one or more files or directories.

  • .p7m: P7M™ is a filename extension for S/MIME encrypted file. The entire e-mail message is saved (not just the contents) in this format, including any attachments.

Remember, the quality of the output can depend on the quality of the original document. For example, an image file (.jpeg, .jpg, .png) that contains text will be OCR (Optical Character Recognition) processed in KAPTO. If the original image is blurry or the text isn't clear, this could impact the accuracy of the text extraction in KAPTO.
